Outboard Motor Leaking Gas Into Water
Outboard Motor Leaking Gas Into Water. If on salt water, there will be. Fresh water always has dirt and chemicals in it, they will be deposited in the close tolerance injector compnents.
I am sure the leak is gasoline. If you have a separate portable fuel tank, try connecting that and see if the motor will run. You need to isolate the leak, and seal it.
Will Try To Test All The Coils And Wires Out Tonight If Possible.
Replaced water pump and gear oil last night just because i already had it ordered before this happened. Hopefully you can find it quickly by doing this. Either at the crank end seals (most likely the lower)or intake somewhere.
Outboard Engines Will Discharge Exhaust Gases Underwater, Typically Through The Propeller, While The Exhaust From Inboard Engines Appears Just Above The Waterline, Along With The Discharge Of Cooling Water.
When there is no water in the trap the liquid will be all the one colour. On my 87 evinrude, i had a hose leaking under the power head that went from the fuel pump to the carb. I do not know what the vst is but when i changed the gas/water separator filter i pulled the wire off under the filter bowl and the whole sensor came out of the bowl.
Gas Is No Longer Leaking Out (Not Sure Why), However The Top And Middle Is Not Sparking.
If you have a separate portable fuel tank, try connecting that and see if the motor will run. If the problem is a leaking vst cooling line, then there will be cooling water leaking into the fuel and going into the injectors. When nice and fresh, that little hose just grips and seals where it plugs on.
Two Cable Ties Around The Ends Of The Aforementioned Hose Stopped The Leak.
Carburetor if none of this has gotten your motor to start, it’s time to consider a problem with the engine. First, squeeze the ball as you watch the fitting between the engine and the line, the barb and the hose, the barb on either end of the ball, and if it’s visible, the fitting between the line and the tank. I had to replace the filter bowl.
Generally This Will Cause The Symtoms You Descibe.
If you see a line, you need to empty the water. You need to isolate the leak, and seal it. Fresh water always has dirt and chemicals in it, they will be deposited in the close tolerance injector compnents.
